Hi, was wondering if anyone could help. I recently formatted my HD and reinstalled XP (plus any drivers etc I needed). Now when i try To install my Civilisation IV game, instead of installing the game it runs a realtek ac'97 driver update.

i've let it complete the driver update and then tried to install again but it just runs the driver update again!

    any ideas?

    Hi eckans2,

Sounds to me that maybe your audio device isn't installed properly, try downloading the latest realtek drivers and reinstall

You can try disableing the realtek in Device Manager, install the game , then enable the realtek again.
(could be a windows bug, MS never stops to amaze me with all of the sorts of error msgs on blue screens :D )
Otherwise i dont know, never heard of a problem like this at all.

    greets Retro
