For those of you who require high quality performance with the need for support of Mpeg4, the Marantz DV4300 (£150-Reduced from £300) is the player to get. It has a high quality Progressive scanning unit which will eble you to get twice the lines (in effect) over a normal DVD players - leading to a smoother image. It also has Component Video out connections for the ultimate.

So...Forget all these Umax players etc that have their Mpeg4 outputting capabilities. Get a real DVD player that has the best picture. For the real Movie buffs, The Marantz DV8400 is supreme, unbeatable and beautfilly made. But at over £800 its outside my limit..
