I have some old cassette tape that I want to put onto cd disks, how can I accomplish this?I have a Teac cd recorder(cd to cd), is there a way I can hook my cassette player to the recorder ?
Your software, soundcard & HDD space are key items here. You need to ensure the you have a line-in 3.5mm port on your soundcard so that you can line-out from your cassette player to this port. You might need to get a cable which converts RCA outputs from your cassette player (depending on the cassette player output ports) to a 3.5mm port which can line-in to your sound card. If your cassette player already has a 3.5mm line-out port then all you need in a 3.5mm stereo plug to a 3.5mm stereo plug cable. So that's the hardware link. Now to capture the audio from the cassette. The better the quality of the sound card then the better the quality of the music captured. You can use several programs for this but I find Easy CD Creator a simple but good choice. You can even remove little glitches and clean up the sound quality after recordind a track. Once you have it on your HDD you can burn it to a CD with your recorder using the Easy CD Creator software. Haven't done it in a while but it has worked for me in the past. Best of luck. Feel free to ask any further questions.
