Recorded DVDs wont play in another DVD player.

    Hi all..

    Recently bought a "SONY RDR-GX210" DVD Recorder.. iv managed to convert an old VHS film onto DVD but it will only play in the Recorder and not my other DVD players..

    why is this..?

    and is there any way to get round it..?

    Did you record onto a DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R or DVD+RW? What format are your players compatible with?

    the recorder is compatable with all cd/dvd types (-/+R -/+rw)
    iv tried a DVD+R x8. and it didnt work in my other DVD player

    do u think it could be something SONY have added to the DVD recorder to make it only play on SONY hardware??

    [bold]Did you finalize the disc on the Sony before trying to play it in another player.[/bold] If your player is an older player it probably will not recognise it. You can copy it to your PC and reburn it to a -R disc with Nero or Elby CloneDVD2 and see if that helps.
