I recorded a presentation in uni but, although the audio is ok, it still is obvious that it's not a stream and that the source is somewhere away from the viewer - exactly as though you are at the opposite end of a room, which is almost what happened (half room away).

Is there something I can use / do, to make it seem less hollow like this and improve the audio to sound less like this?

If you use a Sound Editor such as Audacity -- It's Free and is available here :- http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

You will find under EFFECTS -- Low pass filters , that may remove some of the tunnel effect you are getting !

There are others tools in Effects that may help you make your file more suitable to your taste.

The little Arrow you see on the horizontal tool Bar , is your best friend .. it will undo whatever changes you have made ! When you satisfy, just save your edited file under a different name.

    Good Luck.
