Recording from Starview box

Hi Everyone
New to this but thought would maybe get the answer to my question here.
Which is
If I get a splitter box and connect my Starview box to my NTL box would it be possible to record from the starview box while watching a different channel via my Ntl box and vise versa.

Yes as you have two separate decoders basically

you wouldnt know how I need to connect my starview and Ntl box up using scart so thatI can switch between the two. At the moment I can only view my starview and cannot see the ntl box channels.
Do I need to have a switcher box or something like
