I've been trying to record some old tapes on the new MWR20V6 I just bought. All of the old vcr tapes are copies of very old anime tv episodes. The first tape recorded with no problem, but since then the dubbing will only run for about 5 to 12 minutes the stop and give me a " Problem with recording code 25" message. Is this a typical problem? Is my machine possibly defective? Does anyone know what code 25 is? Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Baring a defective unit I would guess that maybe your tapes have some sync problems from being old. Also alignment of the original VCR could be causing tracking problems with this VCR making the signal unstable. Unfortunately since this is a VCR to DVD combo you can't add a full frame TBC to see if it will fix the problem. Does Magnavox support have any help on what code 25 is?
