recording the soundtrack

    hi
    i want to record the soundtrack only from a video tape from my vcr onto
    a cdr disc.so i need to connect my vcr to my computer using my reciever.
    can anyone tell the hook up procedure between vcr to my reciever to my
    computer?thanks much.

    You can record the audio by connecting the L R audio from the VCR to the 'Line In' jack of the sound card in the PC.
    Use an adapter to convert the RCA plugs to a mini stereo plug.
    If you run a program like 'Audacity', you click the 'Record' icon and the stream will be graphically displayed and the sound heard.
    When the recording is complete, the track is saved as a WAV or MP3 which can be burned as an audio CD or a simple MP3 with the likes of Nero.

    Note that while recording, you should not multitask.
    Any beeps or clicks generated by other programs will be recorded along with your track.
