I don"t really know what you mean ??...

Are you trying to Capture Video from a Camcorder or useing a Capture Card???

If so then you should know before hand that the Capture Module in vegas video is designed to capture Video from a DV Camcorder or DV Tape Deck through a Firewire card and not from analogue Capture cards or TV Cards....

If you are Captureing from a DV Camcorder then When you Start the Capture Module in Vegas it should automaticly detect your Connected CamCorder and configure it and you should see a preview on the screen, There are also Camera controlls so you can go fast forward and rewind useing Vegas instaed of on your camcorder...

Maybe you should explain your problem in more detail .....

I"m sorry but I still don"t understand why you have to open your Files in Vegas and can not open them directly in Media Player???

If vegas can open the Files then so Should Media Player....

Is the Problem that when you double click a Video file Vegas Video opens up instead of Media Player?? If so then that is easy to fix you simple Right click your Video file and go to "Properties" and click the "Change" button and select Media Player from the List and then click "OK" and then click "Apply" and now when you double click a Video file Media Player will open it.....

Maybe if you explain your Problem in even More detail we can get to the Bottom of what your problem is....

    Cheers

If you want to save it as an AVI file then go to "File" to "Render As" and in the "Save as Type" Menu select "Video For Windows (.AVI)" and then click the "Custom" button and go to the "Video" Tab and were it says "Video Format" is were you select which codec you want to render your project to...I suggest something like Maybe the DivX or XviD Codecs if you have them if not select a codec you are familiar with and use that....

After you have set up your AVI file just click OK" in the settings page and select a name for your new avi file and save it and that is it.....

    Cheers
