   i am trying to convert my old records to CD-R but the sound is crappy!!! sounds worse when in WAVE file.. help me please

   Please give some detailed description what you've tried already, what hardware/software you use and what exactly it sounds like. Otherwise helping in a useful way is hardly possible.
