    Hi everyone,

Recently ive been having a problem. My recycle bin never seems to empty. When i empty it all the files delete but the icon still shows it as being full. When i go back into the Bin, and press empty again, it asks me if I want to delete [bold]Windows[/bold]. Now i know this is NOT supposed to be happening but why would it?
Note: I have run a virus scan and used all types of spyware removal (i even wrote a guide ;) so that is NOT the problem.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance

hiya. i'm used to most versions of Windows being a bit half-hearted with recycle bin icons, ie not always showing the right status, though (i'm assuming you have XP) i don't think XP suffers from this. Either way, if you've got NTFS - the recycler folder might be the clue from this thread - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/243149 - also try the treesize suggestion from the thread...

Anyone know if you could help me? When I empty the Recycle bin, some of the icons freeze for a few seconds, then delete. Is this ok.?

DVDback23, I had a similiar problem, except for the delete Windows question. Here is what I did. I went into My Computer, went to one of the folders that I made, on a partition, copied a file, got out of the folder, and pasted it. I then deleted that folder, emptied the Recycle Bin, rebooted, and it no longer showed that it had files in it.

I don't know if that will work for you, but it did for me, and I have no idea why.

yeah, i get that too, occasionally. i stopped using win's "empty recycle bin" and just use CCleaner now.
there don't seem to be any MS KB articles about this. i will keep searching
