Good evening (or morning :)) i would like to know something, i got an AVI file that is about 730Mo, it doesnt fit in a cd so i would like to reduce it so that it will. at the end of the movie, there is some few minutes i can easily cut, so i tried with virtual dub to cut a part but when i make "save as" with "direct stream copy" (i think so ), the quality is a very bit less and the sound and the video dont fit together
so can anybody help me ?
(i apologize for my bad english i am french,,,)

    thank you a lot

You should select Direct Stream Copy both at the Video and Audio and you better select a key - frame as the chop point.

Have a look at my guide here: http://users.auth.gr/~ichatzim/avichop.htm
It is for chopping the file in half but you can do it.

You can also re-compress the video to a lower bitrate but if in the end you just have the credits, it's better to chop them, as it will take you less time and create a better quality movie.

PS. If you use VBR sound you should use VirtualDub Mp3 Freeze or VirtualDubMod as you will have trouble with the original one.
