    Hi;

    I have the latest Nero 8 version installed on windows Vista. I am trying to burn DVD+R DL that is Verbatim and support 2.4 write speed according the package.
    Everytime, I try to burn DV on it, Nero selects x4 speed and does not allow to me to reduce speed. (The option is grayed out).

    Can you advise how to reduce the speed to below x4.
    I have the following Writer:-
    LG
    HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H54L

    You're lucky nero won't change the speed. Nero is not the best of programs to do DL disc. you should download free program ImgBurn

    You got the best media for the job. Verbatim+R DLs Follow the guide for creating and then burning the DL ISO file @ 2.4X. Good luck, DL coasters are expensive! LOL

    Did you have the blank in the DVD drive in Nero when you tried to change speed? That might be cause, but I would still use ImgBurn!

    Hi Garmoon;

    Thanks for the information, Nero is good and seems t be easy.
    But I will go through the ImgBurn, I tried it once and it was asking about laer break ans so on which I was not sure about.
    I have backed up couple of my DVD's to image using the Nero, so I am not sure where the break in the layer is.

    Does making Image using Nero reduce teh quality of the movie?

    One question:-
    When I get to Select Layer Break Burn Position, I get a choice or Rever to VOBU/ECC search, what is that?

    Thanks for previous information.

    I don't use Nero for DL so can't answer that question.

    In ImbgBurn, it gives a few options to select the correct layer break and rates them. Select the best rated.

    HI;

    Thnk you for the guidance, I have tried and burned DL using the ImgBurn and have the following problem.
    i. THe speed is set to x1 but the date write speed is still x4. (Attach screen)
    ii. When prgram switch to second layer, it start having hickups and pauses.

    I have tried everything I could think of but no change in the problem of the pauses.

    Any Idea?

    Thanks

    The problem is on the second layer only. the first layer plays fine.
