i already tried and if just starts recovering the hd i thoughht mabe there was a comand in dos that might wipe the hd
hell, it's impossible to get those CD's to restore the computer they came with if you screw it up enough (testimony from personal experience), much more so on another compie. you're better off just picking up a new OS. those CD's don't really "reformat" the drive, per se. by that, i mean you can't just erase the drive and quit there. they're not designed to allow it. if you got your hands on Knoppix or on another linux distro, or Windows 98, you could easily reformat the drive to do with as you wish.
i know i already went through this on the same comp and i just let it recover my hd and it made a mess of it for a long time until my comp again went down and don't no what happened to it but i think im just gona order some real windows xp CDs
get a xp bootdisk from this link http://www.bootdisk.com/ or use a win9x bootdisk to fdisk & format the drive
