Reinstalled XP, now I get "no disc in drive"

    The drive will read data CDs, but when I put a DVD in the drive the computer just gives a no disc in drive message. In My Computer the drive is showing up as a DVD-RAM drive instead of DVD-RW drive. Any idea what the problem is?

    You have some driver issue.
    Try uninstalling the drive and reboot.
    If that does not work try the same thing for the IDE drive.
    If that does not work you may need to look for updated drivers.
