Remote Control

Hi, I would like to know if anybody knows how to build a device such as a remote that would be able to send a signal which would accept or decline something? My dad works for a driving company and I wanted to know this so that if he gets a job he doesn't have to get up and go to his car but rather he could just accept or decline the job with the remote. He also has a small computer in his car which sends him the job. If this is too complex then is there at least a way to have it send the job through my wireless internet to a laptop and accept or decline it from there? Thanks for the help.
