I recently had vista and xp running as a dual boot - VISTA=C:/ XP=D:/(on a pre-installed Vista). I have now removed XP from D:/ but in the boot menu whenever i restart my computer the XP entry is still there. How can i remove the XP entry from the boot menu?
You need run bcedit.exe from the command prompt or run box http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/2014/vista_using_bcdedit_boot_up_options_dual_boot_xp_prof Or Google for bcedit tips and tutorials
In XP you can follow these instructions: Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery (Settings) > System Startup (Edit) then just delete the line with Windows XP. I think it's similar in Vista, not sure.
