Current theories are: 1. An April Fools joke. 2. Ripit4me's dependencies on DVD Decrypter, and the rumor that copy-protection giant Macrovision obtained the legal rights to DD, allowed Macrovision to force Ripit4me out. 3. The author of Ripit4me is going to produce a commercial version of the product and the free version was really just a beta-test for the upcoming commercial version, much like what happened with RatDVD/FluxDVD. I would, however, withhold judgment until more facts are in.
