Ok, I have some video files that have integrated subtitles I believe. I think someone used a program to put them on the file or something, but I want to take them off. Is there any way to do that?

If you have video that is already encoded with the subs, then no, you can't remove them.

This kind of sub is known as hardsubs...once rendered to the video...you will play hell trying to remove them...there are filters available for 'removing' Logo's etc. that could be applied but these involve removing the 'overlayed' pixels and stretching the surrounding pixels to fill in...resulting in a blurr image in the 'repaired' area. Also, sometimes people choose to 'crop' or mask this lower area of the video then resize the remainder to eliminate these.

What Kind of video files do you have? if they are .vob's then perhaps the subs are in their seperate files and are 'soft subs'<- these are easy to remove discard. If you have a .avi then the subs are probably 'hard' and will be difficult to deal with.
