wondering if anyone can help. i have a movie ,avi, with subtitles and wish to get rid of thgem could someone point me in the right direction as to be able to do this. thank you in advance for your help
There's no real way to do it without cropping the video. I am pretty sure that that is correct; it's been a while though, could be a way to do it now
http://www.compression.ru/video/subtitles_removal/index_en.html but it will do some damage to the quality of that video... EDIT: just to be sure, you do not have external subtitle file? (i mean is subs burned to the film?)
there is the avi file : aster and then there is a 29kb file aster.sub. by removing this will it get rid of the subs?? never encounterd subtitles b4. thanks
Seem you are a lucky one... just remove the .sub file and you don't have subtitles anymore. Or edit the name of the .sub. EDIT: You can also disable subs from settings of VobSub or FFDShow. Or what program you have that supports subtitles?
