I have Sony's notebook that it's painstakingly slow.
I opened Task Manager and there are 66 processes running.

I'm no expert here but that A LOT!!

My regular PC has 35 processes which makes 66 almost twice as much.

How can I choose which to delete and remove permanently?

you can disable services you dont need, heres a good guide,

    http://majorgeeks.com/page.php?id=12,

and run msconfig and see what is in startup you dont need...personaly i always keep an eye on my startup folder and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and clean out any bs that dosent need to be there...pretty much all that starts up with my pc is nod32 av and utorrent.
