    Hi all,

I have built up a little collection of MP3's and i have a number of tracks i did not bother to set an artist name and title of song for.

What i was wondering is whether there is a program that can re-name an MP3 file for you automatically. i.e. a bit of software that reads the files and zooms of over the internet to retrieve the artist and title from some database for you??? A bit like Shazam on the mobile for those who have used it in the UK, for those who have not, all you do if you hear a bit of music you like and want to know who it is, you phone a number up 2580 and hold the phone to the speaker for 20-30 secs, a few minutes later you get the name and song title sent back to you by txt. Something a bit like that!!!

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

the only way to rename this files via the internet is if you have the entire album, in which case you can access the cddb (CD Database.) Or, if the mp3 files have their tags, there are programs that can rename the file based on the tag. An excellent program that can do both is Tag&Rename.
