My girlfriends hamster chewed through a cable and did "something" to make sure my subwoofer no longer works for my Philips lx3600d.

I know nothing about the connections and have been looking for replacement speakers for it. The connections are covered by colour-coded plastic surround. Does anyone know where I can find just the speakers that would be suitable for this player?

    Thanks in advance.

You should be able to find speakers that will work just fine, at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.........

If only the external cable has been chewed, then you need not replace the speaker(s). The colour-coded plastic connectors are "flip-open" type so just use a small flathead scredriver to pry one side open (away from the hinge). Once done, you can pull out the cable (but take note the color-code orientation). Simply cut and strip the wire after the chewed portion, re-insert into connector (following original color orientation) and clamp-shut the connector cover.
