Replacing a string

    So Hoodlum released GTA San Andreas... the realse did not work. Game burn or copy world I downloaded the fix. I am unsure of what to do. Do I have to go into the registry? Here are the instructions:
    ^ ^
    Install:

    1. Unrar.
    2. Replace gta_sa.exe with our fixed.
    3. Open gta_sa.reg with a Text-editor
    4. Replace the String 'Documents and Settings' with the one on your system
    language.
    5. Run gta_sa.reg.
    6. You may need to restart your machine.
    7. Fire up the game.

    From Step 4 I get lost.....
    I have opend gta_sa.reg and this is what it had:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders]
    "Gtasasav"="C:\\Documents and Settings\\Gtasasav"

    So what am I replacing?

    You don't have to go to registry settings to do it. I have an easier way, which for you, will work quite well. Do a format C:/ If it doesn't work the first time, load all of your software again, and do another format C:/. Repeat, until you learn something.

    The game has been banned, has it not? Hopefully, the company will go tits up.

    GrandpaBW as a senior member, Senility must be a way of life old man or is it vietnam? The game is not banned. Maybe letting everyone know at the old age home that you are an 'Afterdawn member' helps you move around in the elite circles? If both yourself and djscoop have a look at what this site is about, then maybe one will see that its about copying amongst other things, hey?

    djscoop, should have gone for PC, would have cost you less as there are more crakers out there for PC software. Not your fault, hopefully next time you will make the right decision. I understand your sourness as you have to buy the game outright.

    AT LEAST I GET TO TRY BERORE I BUY...., no grandpa I am not talking about false teeth

    HEY ferenc8 lay off on the senior members .GrandpaBW is one of the nicest guys in here and one of the MOST helpfull. you could learn alot from him if you listen .
    lay off on the additude or you wont last long in here .GOT IT KID !!

    wot, learn to format my drive? His advice did not teach me anything other than wasting my time.......... I know that every time someone posts a reply to a question ...it looks good in the stats. If one does not intend to help at all then why reply at all??????

    I hope that there aren't 7 more like you. :) I am not old, although I really am a grandpa, but senility is not setting in, and why would you bring up Vietnam?

    GTA was pulled from the shelves of some stores in my area because of the porno "easter eggs" in the game. Ergo, my mistaken statement saying (or asking if) the game was banned.

    I was getting on your case, because you are trying to steal the game, and I really detest the folks who come to these forums, asking questions about how to steal games.

    have a loooooook, people come here and talk openly about it. I am going to do it,he is going to do it, they are going to do it. It is inevitable. It is beyond your control, people will have an illigit copy of the game. Hell this site even tells you how to rip off your local video store of their movies.I for one cant justify the price one has to pay for the game. I would play it once and then it collects dust. There are a very few games that are worth keeping an original copy of.
    So if you get offended or are not willing to help, then move on to where you would be more useful?

    That's the biggest load of horseshit I've seen in a while. If you don't have the mental capacity to figure out what's acceptable here and what isn't then don't post at all. Asking for help getting pirated games to run can and will get you banned.

    Not being able to justify the price of something does not give you the right to simply take it. That's the excuse that spoiled little brats use.


    I'll end by saying that if you're too cheap to buy the game and too dumb to get pirated copy to work on your own then too bad.
