    Greetings all,

Seeking advice for the following issue:

I am interested in making my own demo disk with all the best scenes onto one DVD. For example, I'd like to extract a 5 mins section of a movie from DVD 1, then do the same for the next dvd, and so on and so on. Once I have several sections, I'd like to burn them on a DVD, making a 'greatest hits' DVD...so to speak

I found a shareware software called chopperXP which allows me to cut the exact section I want from a DVD and saves that cut section as a .VOB file.

What software (shareware/freeware/commercial) can I use to put all the .VOB files and burn a DVD with menus ?

If that is not the right software to extract the sections from a DVD, I'm also interested in learning of other software that will ultimately help accomplish my goals.

I thought Ahead software's NERO VISION could help accomplish that but after spending hours and hours with the software, I've run into walls and request feedback/recommendations from the experts here...

    Regards,
    Jay

I'm not familiar with chopperXP, but DVD Shrink (freeware, not shareware) will also let you cut the exact section you want from a DVD to a .VOB file.

If you don't need a menu you could do the whole project just with DVD Shrink 3.2. If you want a menu you could do it with DVD Shrink 3.2 and NeroVision Express 3.

First, with Shrink, rip the scenes you want from the different DVD's to your hard drive following this guide:

    http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/tutorial001.html

Then, after ripping the various scenes to individual folders on your hard drive...

If you don't care about a menu use this guide to put all the scenes on 1 DVD:

If you want a menu then with NeroVision Express select "Make DVD", "DVD-Video" and add the ripped .VOB files from Shrink one at a time. NeroVision will then let you create a menu for your DVD.

I've used Blaze Media Pro to split the videos into the chunks I want, then I join the chunks and run it through DVD Santa to create the DVD. Works Great. Hope this helps.
