Well, There is a thing called 'Soft Reset' That basicly is if your ipod freezes! To do that hold center button and menu for 6-10 sec! in the iPod updater there is a thing called 'Restore' that resets it to factery settings and deletes every thing! To do that have you iPod connected to your comp then Click your start tab go to all programs go to iPod then ipod updater in iPod updater theres a button that says update and restore, click restore!!! ~Domreis
Isn't there anything in the manual which touches on this. You wouldn't want to do anything that could void the warranty or damage the ipod in any way.
doing the soft reset or the ipod updater reset does not affect ur ipod or void the warranty becuz the ipod updater and the soft reset were designed by apple weazel200
Anyhow, amid all the confusion, simply -Connect your iPod to your PC. -Open the version of the apple updater currently active on your iPod (START-->ALLPROGRAMS-->IPOD-->IPOD UPDATER "2005-_ _ -_ _") Then simply press 'restore' once the initialization is complete.
No, if you were to take your iPod into the apple store the way that it was and tell them what was wrong they would restore it just like that! ~Domreis
