Are you using an external burner? If so make sure all connections are stable. What type of DVD are you trying to burn?
Its an external io magic 16x dual layer. Using verbatim media 8x dvd-r. Was able to burn cd-r's. It is just dvd's after 5-20% buring getting the reset occured error. Any ideas? Please.... Thanks
Have you tried changing the discs? If still same problem then I would say there is a problem with the burner itself. If it's under guarantee take it back for a replacement. You should always get an internal burner unless of course you are using a laptop. Besides being cheaper they are much more reliable.
- not too bad, latest 6.x version is 6.6.0.16 but see here for the release notes for 6.6.0.16 and see if there's any fixed bugs that might benefit you in there - http://www.nero.com/nero6/en/Nero_Burning_ROM_6_Release_Notes.html#a1 - i can't work out if any of these are your burner (i detest these drives for that very reason) so can't tell of there's new firmware for this drive. See here for more info re i/o magic drives - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/212999 - that question mark's fine as your drive is a usb burner - you're burning too close to outer edge of discs. If you use DVD Shrink, set target size to 4300MB in Shrink's preferences thus avoiding outer edge and not sacrificing much space - fantastic discs - simulation's a great idea, though try other suggestions and try 4x

all settings are now as they should be. all i noticed in the log is this - - it's a bit contradictory, it first says it's booktyped the disc, then it says it's failed to booktype. as far as i was aware, from watching my Nero booktype anyhow, is that one of the first things Nero says is 'booktyping set to auto' (can't remember the exact message i see, sorry), then it does the burn, which for 4300MB at 4x is roughly 15mins. i'm wondering if your burn above has failed near end of burn, or spent those 10mins trying to set the booktype...
Now i am using DVD-RW disks. writing speed is 4x. tried with 2.4x also. still tha same problem. For first time with dvd-rw disk, after burning around 80% it failed. I tried again now it fails immediate meaning after 4% buring. Log file below. I am not able to figure out what exatly is problem. Please help me. new log below. I am not sure which version is latest. My live update says A089 is the latest firmware. Should i go back to A187?
