i personally have used DVDFab and like it i do kinda like 1clickdvdcopy, but there are hardly any options is there a difference in quality. sorry if this is a common Q, i couldn't find anything searching. all the sites that review these progs say 1click is great, but are they sponsored to say that? i'm not sure to trust them soon i'm gonna backup my entire collection, so i want to make sure i'm using the best prog (want an all in one prog) can you guys help me out. thanks
If you want an easy to use, fast, and good output quality,I would recommend clonedvd2 and anydvd. If your gonna backup your whole movie collection it will be worth the small cost. You can download a 21 day trial of these progs at www.slysoft.com. Give them a go and see what you think.I personally would stay away from 1click. Good Luck!
i agree,clonedvd2 and anydvd is a real good combination,i have uset this combo for a couple of years with no problem.
be careful of what you read on some of those so called review websites, they are nothing but malicious ads cloner2 is an old version of shrink one click copy seems to survive on lots of adds and possible false info. for a great yet easy one, try recode2, its made by the same person that made shrink and works great, it comes with the oem version of nero, or almost anyother version of nero that includes more than just the burner the best of course is dvdrebuilder with hc or cce but for an all in one check out nero
must of my backups are main movie-only, and when it comes to main movie-only with dvd2one you'll get the following: 1)speed(without errors) 2)greeeeeaaaat quality(a very little better than shrink, IMHO) of course this is only according to my eyes and my 42 inches tv.
Have just started to use Clone DVD2 and like it but only done a few. Like the fact that if backing up and if I was going to make more than one copy it is a lot quicker than Shrink by not having to do another encoding. I have used Any DVD with Shrink all along. Shrink is a heck of a program and it's free but reccomend as others have stated try Clone DVD2 and Any DVD trials basis for the free time and see if you like it. Sometimes change is good.I like the idea that Clone DVD2 has showing the color slide of probability of copy being too long and not playing well.
I can highly recommend 1Click http://www.1clickdvdcopy.com/ having used it for well over a year it's a brilliant bit of software, no there are hardly any options but thats the idea of it, it's one click copying. I've found the quality excellent also. The options available in 1click http://www.1clickdvdcopy.com/images/fullshot.jpg Include extras All languages DTS Audio Include Subtitles Movie Menus Dual Layer The 1click support forum http://www.dvdrextreme.com/vb/ has the best bunch of members you are likely to find anywhere, there knowledge is superb and there very quick in helping if you have any questions. I do however have 2 things i would like them to change in the future: 1. You get a 3 burn trial only before you have to purchase the software, i would like this to be increased to at least 10 copies so people have longer to decide if they want to purchase it or not. 2. You don't know how much compression is required before the read process starts, it would be nice to have a bar like in CloneDVD2 or simular. Apart from that i've found it brilliant. If you like to have more options and just fancy something just a little bit different CloneDVD2 is superb and can't be beaten! Slysoft have got it spot on with the free trial aswell. Download CloneDVD2 together with AnyDVD http://www.slysoft.com/en/ and give it a go! Cheers activ8
I have purchased AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 and really like the simplicity of their operation. Adjustable target size and speed of burn make for quality burns on backups. They are worth the money if you ask me.
althought i'd like a 1 prog solution. is cloneDVD almost as good as shrink and rebuilider? so if i want a 1 prog solution, you would all recommend cloneDVD over 1click and dvdfab?
1-click is fine if you only backup feature films and always want to compress them to one disk. If you're like me , you want to have more options, like being able to split movies to preserve full uncompressed quality, or being able to split episodic dvds. DVD Shrink is one of the best freeware programs I've ever seen. Use it in combination with a decryptor like DVD43 and the Nero burning software that comes bundled with many DVD burners. It takes a bit more learning time, but there is plenty of info here on Afterdawn. Now that I've gotten used to it, I never use anything else.
dvdfab is ok (tried it on the free trial)but i did'nt like it nowhere near as much as cloneDVD2. Don't forget if you go for 1click or CloneDVD2 you will need a Decrypter(AnyDVD) otherwise it wont copy protected dvd's. dvdfab has it's own built in decrypter. As for Shrink and Rebuilder iv'e never used them as i've never had the need to. syxbit do yourself a favour and download the 21 day free trial of AnyDVD & CloneDVD2 and see how you like it you've got nothing to lose!
Don't think for one moment that DVD43 will work as well as AnyDVD does. Especially on new release dvd's, AnyDVD rules!
i'm not trying to sound lazy by not testing. i've tested all the progs, but i am more interested in which has better image quality when compressing. i don't have a big TV, but i'm getting one, so when i get it i'll notice. i just wanna find a good prog with good image quality and stick with it for a long time. i just can't really tell the diff in quality (i might on a big TV). i know i could do zoom, or take them to a fiends house, but i trust the readers of these forums, and i know lots of image quality tests have already been done. no need for each individual user to do his own image quality test (i know what you're going to say, it's subjective...i know, but i'm not THAT picky)
even with a store bought dvd you may loose some quality due to your dvd player quality or your tv quality and the bigger the tv screen the more quality may be lost because the pixels are not as compact.clonedvd2 and anydvd gives a good copy that most people will be satisfied with.
I read a lot of negative commments about DVD43 on these forums, but just want to say for the record that I have found it works perfectly every time and has never given my system any trouble. The lasest update (Aug 2005) works fine on Sony Arrcos - I've backed up Kung Fu Hustle, Sideways, etc. perfectly. Not bad for a quick, free download.
I perfer too use clonedvd2, over using 1click, but one of the main reasons I like having both programs, Is, every so often, I will get a movie that maybe, has some scratches, or is not perfect, and clonedvd2 will not read it, and 1click goes ahead and reads it. I,ve had about 10 movies that have done this. The people at slysoft tech help, were not any help in getting over this small problem.
to bongzilla. i have i clickdvd and i still use for two reasons and two reasons only. one is because in low compression, does a great and fast job and second and more impostant, its ripping capabilities are secong to none(the best ripper out there, does scratches better than any other program.
If you read the reviews on Dvd Wizard pro it is highly rated. The reality is that it really does suck. The only proper opinions you will get are on forums such as here. CloneDvd2 & AnyDvd are probably the best all round combination & I have never seen anyone knock it (yet!). Nero & shrink work OK, but it will not copy newer movies. Recode is popular with AnyDvd. Dvd43 can cause conflicts & can be problematical. I tried one click dvd, it did not work, so I binned it.
i've already bought AnyDVD (the best prog ever!) even though i've been using DVDFab, which decrypt, i still have anydvd do it, cause it does it better. i have clonedvd trial, and own Nero recode, so i'll check out how good nero is. since shrink is free, and i have nero, i can use that too (ofcourse with anydvd in the background...
To All; Has anyone had any problems playing CloneDVD2 burnt backups in any of their players? I was wondering because it does not allow booktyping to DVD-Rom like decrypter does.
