    Hi...

I use EAC and Lame to rip my cd's to my computer hard drive. If I want to back-up my original music cd to a blank cd, what is the best software to use for this purpose? Also, if I back my music up this way (then take my back-up copy) and rip that to my hard drive with EAC and Lame, will I get the same result as wwhen I was using the original music cd? Thanks in advance to all,

    Dan

I use the older versions of clone cd (3.4 and earlier) to make audio CD copies because that is the only program that makes true 1:1 copies. but any burning app such as nero should be able to copy an audio CD with no problems, unless it has some form of copy protection. if it does, you can rip the cd to wave with EAC then burn to audio cd (see the guide in my sig below).

kudos for using EAC and LAME, they are the best ripper and best mp3 encoder out there. While in theory a copy of an audio CD should be the same data as the original CD, I personally would still rip with the original and not the copy. That way there's no possibility of errors or data loss.
