Hello All, Does anyone use RipIt4Me to back up their DVD's? What is the consensus about it's quality? I began using it because using it because it seemed that DVD Shrink and DVD Fab Decrypter didn't work on many movies and when they did work, it seemed that there were many minutes missing from the ripped copy. I've used it without any problems. However, I'm now having a problem with the final step in the burn process (Nero Express). Recently, at the end of the burn process (about 5% remaining) the burn process stops and I get an error message. This problem seems to be coincidental with a recent purchase of Dynex DVD -R's. Prior to this purchase I used Fuji Film DVD -R's and never had a problem with the burn process. Moreover, I recently Gateway changed my DVD burner to "optiarc dvd rw ad-7530a." However, until I began using this new media, I never had a problem with a burn. I've been able to back up several of my DVD's with this new media, but unfortunately I'm unable to back up 2 specific DVD's. I don't think it's a media problem because I've tried a few DVD -R's with the specific movies and they stop burning at the same spot. And I'm able to use the same media to backup other dvd's with no problem. Am I correct to assume that if it is a movie specific problem, the error would occur when ripping and not when burning? As you can see I need a lot of help. Thanks in advance for any help you all may give me.
There are still a few stragglers using it, but alot have moved on to DVDFab HD Decrypter to rip thier discs. Since R4M won't be seeing any more updates in the future it is advised to start using other programs to see what you like best as that day will come when R4M is no longer effective with new encryptions. And I've never heard of portions of the movie being removed, perhaps we are just talking about previews etc., or from the movie itself? Many users here prefer Imgburn to Nero for their burning needs...but you could post a log for us to examine and we can see if there are any tweaks to be done to correct your problem. http://my.afterdawn.com/locoeng/blog_entry.cfm/385 Probably not a coincidence at all...the only media I recommend is Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden, but again post a log as there may be other things at play here.
