I have the movie Haggard, and I wanted to rip the audio off it so I can burn it on a cd and listen to it while I'm driving and stuff. I tried it with DVD Shrink, but I couldn't find a way to do it, and I'm not used to DVD Decrypter. Can anyone tell me a way to do this?
Using [bold]DVD Decrypter[/bold]. Make sure that it is in IFO mode (Mode -> IFO). Under the input tab, select the chapter and scene that you want to rip. Click on the Stream Processing tab. Turn on Stream Processing by checking the box. Now DVD movies normally have at least two audio layers. One should be 2 channel AC3 (Stereo) and the other should be 6 channel AC3 (5.1 Dolby Suround). Choose the 2 channel AC3 stream and check its box. Make sure that the 2 channel AC3 stream is highlighted, then choose to Demux it. Now, the video stream and 6 channel AC3 stream should both be de-selected (unchecked)! Start the decrypting process. At the end of the process DVD Decrypter should have Demuxd the AC3 stream to your hard-drive. Next you will have to turn the AC3 file into an Mp3 or Wave file. If you have succes in demuxing the audio stream and don't know how to convert AC3 to Mp3 then I can tell you how to do that too. Ced
There are some audio recording programs that record audio through your soundcard... so if you're playing an encrypted movie... or if you buy and encrypted song from RealOne or Napster etc that has rights attatched to it, you can record just the audio... There are some free programs you can find by google searching or going to download.com (search audio recorder)... a good free program is Sound Capture... its a little tricky in that you have to adjust your audio output setting for whichever your output is... usually wave, line out, or aux... You can adjust these by opening your volume control. You should have a speaeker icon in the bottom right of your screen... double click it and if you see only 3 sliding bars, click the advanced button or link to open the expanded audio controlls. If it is not in your system tray (the bottom right), then click start>search>click the all files or folders link, then in the top box type volume control, then click search... in a few seconds it should find an icon with your volume control. Once you get it open, run a few test plays of the audio, and playbacks so you can adjust the volume outputs properly. A good pay program is AllSound Recorder. Both the free and pay versions can generally be saved in either wav or mp3 format. You can save them to your desktop or any foldr you'd like. Since you're wanting the audio for your car, unless you have a CD player that plays mp3 CD's, or unless you're planning on saving to an mp3 player, then you'll need to convert the media to a playable format. If you have Real one, you can convert between media types. If you don't, you can google search for a free media converter... a good free one is called switch. hope that helps bb
I have wrote a guide that does that using [bold]Jet Audio Basic[/bold]. Jet Audio can record from your sound-card to Mp3, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, Flac, or Monkeys Audio. It will also convert between the multitude of file formats. I see the analog recording method as a last resort because the sound quality isn't as good as that of a file created using a digital process. Hey ShBm, Xilisoft DVD Audio Ripper is one-stop DVD audio ripper. You can rip the audio off from DVDs and save as MP3, WAV format. then using any burning program, burn them on CD.
These are the two most popular apps for making AC3 to Mp3 or Wave conversions. [bold]BeSweet[/bold] has a GUI that is very hard to get use to and isn't very robust but it is very stable. [bold]HeadAC3he[/bold] is a setup nightmare, but once everything is in the correct place it works great (sometimes). Can anyone help me ? i have a "system of a down" dvd with live perfomances it only has about ten minutes of audio .i went to DVD Decrypter and i decrypted it and now i have a VOB file of about 95,000 kilobytes . i want to change this VOB file to mp3 so i can burn it onto a cd and play it in my car.
Ok, did you read the stuff above? You are suppose to use DVD Decrypter to Demux the AC3 audio stream from the VOB file on the DVD. Anyway since you have the decrypted VOB file... Can you watch the VOB file on your PC? If it is exactly what you want you can use BeSweet to demux the decrypted VOB file (I don't recommend doing that though). thanks diabolos. i found out what i did wrong i didnt select the two channel box i picked the dolby surround and two channel so it gave me a VOB. thx for the help

HeadAC3he, while being good at what it does, is unstable. It requires a little more effort than the typical app to set it up (the way you want it to be). The main thing I don't like about HeadAC3he is that the only way to change anything about the app is to edit the INI file manually. Also the files that I got from the home page didn't work! I had to go and get the most up-to date before HeadAC3 would recognize them (Azid, Ogg Vorbis, LAMEmod, and other DLLs). But this could already have found a remedy. Its not a bad app I just prefer to use BeSweet mainly because of its presets and multiple Wave conversion schemes. In the end it comes down to what your comfortable with using, Ced
I found a less confusing way to get audio from a dvd. You will need DVD Decrypter, Goldwave, and AC3 Filter. I used diabolos method of ripping. and then open the file with Goldwave. Goldwave is a free/trial period thing. In order to escape the usage fees I just saved it once it was opened and dragged the saved file to iTunes now that it is a all audio track. Converted it to AAC and now its an iTunes song. I used iTunes because its my main music area. once it's saved, it can be dragged anywhere. forgot to tell ya. Usage Limit The toll counter in the status bar gives you a rough idea of the benefit you have received from using GoldWave. This shareware version is limited to 150 commands each session. When the limit is reached, a toll message will appear whenever you use a control in the Device Controls window. Exiting and restarting GoldWave will let you use another 150 commands without interruption. By registering, you will receive a license that removes this toll counter completely. basically it's free. i did mines in 22 takes which was mostly trial and error and getting use to the program.
