Hi, I just got a new DVD+RW drive in my computer. I'm using Smartripper to rip dvd's. My problem is that whenever I rip a dvd it makes it a really big vob file (over 5 gigs) which I can't burn onto a single dvd. This happens even if the movie is under 2 hrs. Is there any way to make the vob file smaller? Thanks.

Sorry everyone, I already answered my question. DVD-5 and DVD-9. That makes sense.

yes you can make your file smaller by using rempeg2 and then demuxing that file back into your new VIDEO_TS file check other forums and you will soon see how it is done!!

    jdiddy018,
Why don't you give Shrink DVD a try. It will rip your DVD and shrink it down to your more managable 4.4GB size.
Very easy to use and the only thing left is for you to burn it -I suggest either Nero or Clone DVD for doing that :)
    Good luck, "P"
