rather new to the whole computer based DVD burning and have been using the following system to "backup" DVDs : DVD Shrink > NERO ..... and have had great success so far. I am wondering if the "DVD Copy" function of NERO is just as suitable for this purpose for _copying_ DVDs? This path would be only used for "copying" already backed up DVDs and those under 2 hours in length. In the CDr burning world, it is called "on the fly" and shunned upon by many. Is that the same case here? Thoughts? suggestions? etc etc? thanks in advance.... Dan Sisler
Hi Dan, I took a look at Nero Smartstart> Copy disc. Under "copy options", it has the "on the fly' option check box and a warning that states your source disc must be clean and the read speed should be at least double the write speed. If I needed to make a copy I would go for it! I would just set the burn speed to 2X. Of course I burn CDs on the fly too, put labels on everything and run other programs when I'm ripping. I don't consider any of that a big deal, after all they are just DVDs. BTW, Happy 2004! Frank Hey Dan I did another disc (Pirates otC) with Recode 2 and Decrypter, takes longer but you can get a movie with working menus. Have you tried it? Better compression numbers than Shrink too.
