Ok, I have been doing alot of reading about these HTPCs, but im still puzzled when it comes down to the video card selection. Im going to be connecting my PC to my tv so i can watch TV, movies etc. But i also would like to be able to play some games IF i had to. I need something fairly cheap since im on a budget.

Here is what im putting in it so far:
    AMD Athlon XP 2200+
    Biostar M7NCD Nforce2 400 motherboard
    Sound Blaster Live 5.1
    Samsung 160gb 7200rpm IDE
    Pioneer A06 DVD+/-RW burner
    Asus 16x Dvd Rom
512mb DDR Pc-3200 Corsair Value select

I plan to run either Windows Media center or just windows xp pro. So what do you guys think? Any suggestions on a video card or on anything else?

You don't need much of a video card for the tv output. That depends on your tv tuner card and your processor. Your setup sounds fine. So you'll just need to figure out what kind of games you want to play on it and scale it accordingly. I decided to play games on my $149 xbox instead of buying a new $250 video card every other year, $550 if you want one to play all the games.
