Router vs wifi extender problem

    I have a router in my basement, in the middle of my bungalow.
    Wifi reception in our bedroom is very weak.
    Bought a wifi range extender a few years ago and it solved the problem
    But for last year at least, when we finally get to bed and we have no reception on our iPads
    Solution is ALWAYS to reboot the extender, which ALWAYS works.
    But this was a pain, so I bought a new wifi extender..
    Same problem
    Why is my wifi extender (old and new) not working for more than 24 hours ????
