roxio cd creator 5 doesn't recognise nec 1100a

    hey, everything's really in the title, and i was was wondering why roxio says 'no supported dvd recorders were detected on your system'. The package came with the dell pc and so did the dvd+rw drive (nec 1100a).

    does anyone else have the same problem, and also does anyone know how to rectify it. thanks

    I have the same drive but left Roxio 5 Deluxe off my 2 newer computers in favor of Nero. Check the roxio site for updates to 5.

    i have and there's nothing about it supporting the nec 1100a drive which is highly weird as it's a relatively common drive.

    Roxio 5 is more than 2 years old. The NEC ND-1100A is just over a year old - barely. I can see why Roxio 5 doesn't recognize it. The later versions of Nero 5 then Nero 6.x recognize and identify the drive.

    If you're looking to burn DVDs I don't think Roxio 5 will work for you, it doesn't have that function. (if my memory serves me well)
