I have an SVCD that works great in my Computer, but when I try to play it in my standalone DVD player (Panasonic DVD-RV31) it Skips. I tried converting it to regular VCD with DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc but it wont open the d2v files. Any suggestions?
go to the dvd2avi folder and copy the dvd2avi.vfp file and paste it into the TMPGEnc folder, try open it now!
In TMPGEnc, click option - environmental setting, click the vfapi plugin tab, is the DVD2AVI filereader there?
Define skipping.. I have a small problem with a SonicBlue GoLive standalone dvdplayer deciding it wants to pause for a millisecond or so on the video and sound in burnt moovies esp vcds/svcds.. discs playback no praw in my puter so I thinking its just the dvdplayer having trouble decoding the discs themselfs.. that might be whats causing your player to skip - player 'choking' while it decodes the disc
Hi --in my situation vcd plays fine on pc but on standalone dvd player acts like the v-hold is messed up and there is no color?
The panasonic dvd-rv31 does not support SVCD. However, it does support VCD ... so you could try using the VCD Header trick here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/40078 You might have to make the resolution smaller ... so that the whole screen will fit during playback (for me ... the bottom is sometimes cut off ... if anyone knows how to fix this without re-encoding the avi file ... i'd appreciate it) Can't you just use tmpgenc and convert the svcd to vcd? oh... and isn't htere a patch you need to use tmpgenc for svcd to vcd? did you install those?
