S video too sharp?

    I just bought a Flat screen CRT tv and am using S video on my dvd player. It seems that the compression on dvds seems to stand out way more than on a plasma or projection, is
    that normal? Or do I have an over critical eye?

    you've got a sharpness meter on your television, don't you?

    It might be my dvd compression software. Because it is like that on my other tv's so im
    gonna check out my software.
