Hi all.. as with a lot of others iv lost the use of my 500c, not alone do i miss all the lovely channels ,i now realise how usefull the EPG was, as my current service is a basic package, straight from the wall type, IE;no set top box involved, just connect straight to telly, i now have no EPG, but recently a friend handed me a Sagem box, previously used on a micro wave system near by, is there some way i can use it for a cable supply ,to get the channels and an EPG. I do realise the 500c will still give me an EPG ,but no picture, will this be the same or can i get picture and EPG through this somehow. Due to it having no numbers ,im not sure which model it is, ,it has on the front left side the name Sagem and on the right side the name of provider, with a blue card&chip in the bottom ,also having the providers name on it. Is it of any use, other than holding open the door while i go to the bin.? Cheers D
Hi, nothing on the box except SAGEM on front left and CH*R-ASS on right. Have pics ok, but cant figure out how to up-load here.
simple answer is no. microwave (that is mmds) works on totally different frequencies to cable so this box is totally useless to you. if you had a cable chokus box then you would have an epg on the system.
