Hello, I have searched far and wide for someone to be able to help me with my burning problem. I just got a Samsung Lightscribe CD & DVD Burner and I cannot get it to burn. I have done everything I can think of to make it work. I even sent my log to Nero and they said sorry, we can't help you with this. I am hoping that someone out there might be smarter than the Nero techs. Below is my log file. Hi RobRoy3 1st thing edit out your serial # - top of log and begins w/ 1A. Still have the box on this drive? (samsung's site didn't list them) Check what the minimum pc requirements are. I returned a Samsung external 18x (different model #). Minimum ram was 512mb and minimum processor was a p4 2.8 ghz. Not all my pc's meet that. Right now you're running 256mb ram. If you're at the minimum or below probably the problem. So check the specs on what this burner reguires. Reset occurred Close any running programs - something may be tying up the drive. Unhook the drive (safely remove hardware in system tray). Unplug it - power. Reboot the pc, power up the drive, now connect it again. Try another 2.0 usb port too. Give that a go and let us know.
It Appears my computer does not have a 2.0 USB. Is that something I can buy and add on? I guess I have never needed one in the past.
From the log it kinda looked like you where using one. Had this Adapter driver: <> HA 2 . But yes you can get add/replace a 2.0 usb pci card. Did you check the minimum requirements for the drive too to make sure your pc meets them?
