Unit is out of warranty of course. Plays dvd discs fine, but won't play any blu-ray discs. Get an error "this disk cannot be played". I have unplugged it, reset it (using remote). Reset it using controls on player itself. Jumped up and down 4 times, and circled my sofa 3 times. I have put 3 needles in a bar of soap i carved to look like a blu-ray player, but nothing seems to work. Samsung support of course couldn't care less. And, I just uploaded the latest firmware, to no avail. Any thoughts?
Hi there, Just thought i would say how i got my bluray player working again as it could only read cds and dvds. will need to open the unit up where the laser is and gently clean the blue laser with a 70% Isopropyl Alcohol wipe/swap by gently rubbing on it for 10 seconds. over time there is dirt build up that can prevent it from reading blu ray disks. if that don't fix it then laser might be dead.
