hi all. i've been having problems with my samsung dvd-rom sd-616t drive, ever since i bought it. it works fine with the cd's, but doesn't read dvd's at all. i'm running win xp, and i tried to install several firmwares, including the latest ones indicated by Samsung. very rarely does it play dvd's, and when that does miraculously happen, it's incredibly slow... but now it seems that it can't read no dvd's at all. i'm tired of reading other people complains concerning problems with this drive... is there any hope? tried to reinstall drivers, activate and deactive the driver, change the dvd regions, various kinds of dvd, dvd-r, dvd-rw.... it just says "please insert disk", and i can't solve this damned problem... please, someone help. thanks
It's getting on a bit now...best thing to do is sell it on ebay..people are looking for these drives to fit in xbox consoles!! You'll get enough for it to buy a new oem dvd-rom lol
