Hi, i have had a smasung ps42q7hd for about 3 years...i'm hoping someone can help me... this morning while the tv was on it suddenly got lines all over it, i think they were a purple and green colour.. the lines didn't last that long because it instantly got worse.. now the screen has a square covering most of the center, this square is full of fuzzy coloured dots... but also the screen keeps flashing back the a black screen then back to this fuzzy square every few seconds.. there is still sound, but only when the fuzzy screen is on.. when it go to black screen there is nothing..

i can't even get into any settings to see iif it's anything to do with that.. this happened while watching cable tv, so i put the tv onto the wii channel and the xbox channel but could see anything on those sides either... is this the end for my tv?? hope it's an easy fix..

    thanks for any help

Unplug the TV from the wall socket and wait 5 minutes.
    Try it again.

Give Samsung a call to see if they'll assist or can offer any advice.
You may be able to get a no-cost or low-cost esitmate.

dont expect anything from Samsung.Bought a 40" two years ago for $1500. After all tests, Geeks said I need new screen. Samsung basically said "tough @#$%^&, you're out of warranty". I think that is the last Samsung product in this house. Remainder of unit is great according to tech so if you need the guts send me a note.Estimated installed price was $700. For a few bucks more I bought a new Sony with more options included.

yep,had the same thing with samsung.2 months out of warranty on a home theatre and not even a reply.the colored lines sound like display panels gone bad.had that happen to my samsung tv.it took them 7 weeks to get parts and repair under warranty.i guess what im really saying is dont hope for too much from samsung.find a good local electronics repair shop and get an estimate.
