Ok i have a SATA hdd and a compatable motherboard, but the m'board has gone tit's up and now im stuck with a 200gig hdd with a lot of my data on thats useless, i am unable to afford a new m'board at the moment but want to know if i can get access the data on it with a IED board?? i bought a IED 2 SATA converter but it works the wrong way round. is there a way to get the converter to work to go from SATA 2 IED??? any help PLEEEEEASE
Rather than do that, I would buy a cheap external enclosure for the drive so you can plug it in over USB.

Remove the hard disk from the case, and buy an external enclosure you can put the drive in, which allows you to plug it in over USB instead. This sort of thing: http://www.rapidonline.com/netalogue/zoomed/Large/19508501.jpg
