Hello This is the deal- 1st I have a dvd with bits and bobs I have recorded of sky+ and I then popped the (recorded) dvd into the pc and ripped the content, after the rip I then edited the footage to get rid of adverts, early starts, breaks etc. Then after cutting it (in vision 5) I have the final footage left and wondered what I needed to do to drop this back onto my USB stick, i'm struggling with which format to export to the USB stick for playback on my SD-580e DVD player which has a USB slot. Could anyone advise as I tried AVI. but the DVD player states "file is wrong format" I have full .AVI movies on the stick all ready and these play fine and I guess it's the conversion process? Cheers
You can compare your working files with the one that is giving the problem. Drag one file onto Mediainfo and compare the two. Another limiting factor for an AVI file is the possible 2GB file size limit. This file uses the DivX codec - generally, XviD and DivX are interchangeable. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_software/mp3_tools/mediainfo.cfm A good conversion program for DVD to AVI is 'AGK' http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd_to_avi_using_autogk.cfm
Hello Attar Thanks for your help and links it's appreciated. I checked the format of my recorded sky+ stuff which are basically TS/ files (pre) conversion but and here is the details below. Also i'm in the process of trying other software and also retrying Nero again, the file size is not a issue on the stick due to both (edited files) being about a G in size each. Cheers
