Hey Guys I recently purchased a Dell 3007WFP-HC and I love it!! I was concerned though after noticing how warm the top of the monitor was sitting on my desk. I don't do any gaming just surf the net, I can imagine it must get a lot warmer if being used for gaming. I attributed it to the tight clearances inside and low profile which doesn't allow much room for air to flow through the unit. I know heat is bad and will lead to shortened monitor life and early component failure. I paid too much for this monitor too lose it to heat. So I came up with a solution. I designed a USB fan with speed control that mounts to the rear right side of the monitor and uses the existing slots to mount, so it can be removed with no damage to the monitor. If anyone is interested in extending the life of their monitor, please email me! edited by ddp
I owned a 3007WFP for two years (Same as the HC but with the older panel) They run hot, but it is of no consequence to them. Only the newer 3008WFP screens suffer from problems when they run too hot.
