Recently bought onkyo TX 507 with the intention of routing my tv cable box (digivox xl usb) through it so i can have only one (HDMI) cable running to wall mounted TV. However digivox only has scart out which means i would need to convert to either HDMI or component to route through a/v receiver to tv - was wondering if anyone has any experience of such converters? Thanks

SCART and HDMI are two dissimilar technologies.

SCART is Analog and HDMI is Digital.

IMHO, (and in general) you really should consider a different cable box, as any conversion method will not provide the best quality signal/resolution.

Thanks - i appreciate your input - as i am looking for convenience mainly and quality secondly can you tell me what i sacrifice in using a scart to hdmi converter? ie will the tv picture be worse than if i went scart alone or composite alone direct from cable box to tv?
