You cannot do it yourself as N** have to provision it for you. Basically their engineer will come to your house get the BKD/IRD numbers from the box they will then log it onto the network.

There is loads of people here to help, you can read the info off your box. The problem you have is you need an N** engineer to send either a text or to call to head office with your box info to make it active/on stream again.

Your box is fine you need it activated at the N** headend and only an N** engineer can do this for you.

Where have you moved to that it has taken this long for N** not to have done this yet?

We moved about 5 minutes walk away to kimmage in Dublin, and i though i'd take down all the information from the box, and i could input the model number, part code, barcode into some where and they would have a code i could use, because when i hook it up to the tv, it say's please wait and then on the N*L page there is a place you can go to enter codes,
Previously when we got the box and your man came out he had numbers written in a book he just inputted!!,

So i guess i'll just have to wait, your saying???

    Cheers

You can get into the engineers screen but that will do you know good. Basically they have to make your box live again to your new address. As I suppose you cancelled your service in the old address. Tell me one thing is your cable into the new place live?

Just checking as N** might have left your box live but your cable dead. Your in Kimmage there is a lot of cabling work going on in your area. Why have they not come out to you after such a long time are you ringing them everyday as they have no excuse not to have you up after that lenght of time.

By right they have to give you a date to which they will call out to you, if you have a contract with them. To check if the line is live you should be able to plug it directly into the back of the TV and you should get around 17/18 channles on a basic package in your area.

They are basic free to air channels, your digital line has not been made live either. You really need N** to come out. One thing that works with them is if you say that because of the lenght of time you are waiting you are changing over to S*y and when you ring customer services make sure you get to speak to a manager. This usually puts a fire under their ar*e.

Thats what its all about here :) you can buy a simple box like a Starview or Eurovox and with some firmware on it away you go. BTW I only live a few minutes away from you and I have "all" the channels :)

and with this box how much are you typically going to pay for, does it run combined with the n*l pace box.

Took your advice and rang them there threatening to move to S*Y, and they commited to Tuesday. So should i look to buy a box like a Starview or Eurovox, NEIGHBOUR??
