Hey, i have been playing some games with my new DS Lite for about 6 days now using Acekard 2.1 and on the touch screen i noticed today that there is a burned wifi icon at the topright corner and a little brigther line of about 0.3 cm thick at left and top of the screen. The line at left side of the screen is even visible at the bootup of DS when the wall of text appears. Has anyone else ever hard screen burns on their DS? And would insurance cower this up? Thank you.

whats your access? probably more than paying someone to repair it. was it dropped exposed to heat or cold, or any other history so we can find out if there is another problem why this happened?
Thanks for your answers Mickoz74 I have no intention to go opening up my DS. The DS Has not been exposed to heat or cold nor have i dropped it (Holding on it like my life atm >;O) But to clarify the screen burn it seems that the Poketech app in Pokemon Platinum did it. Here is a picture i found http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b372/Ness___/poke/Pokemon045.jpg The white line on the left with red over and under it seems to have caused it as it is exactly the same shape. But as the DS uses LCD screens it would seem to be impossible. Could this be cause of the flash cart or could the DS be broken? Thank you. EDIT: After playing some other game for some hours straight the line seems to have been vanished a little and has become a little more fat
That's not screen burn in that picture, its dead and/or stuck pixels. Sometimes rubbing stuck pixels can unlock them, but more often they're just dead. Stuck pixels are caused by manufacturing errors and are a very rare problem on the DS, but they do happen. If the DS is new then nintendo should replace it for you even though you were using a flashcart. Even so, on general principal you should never tell them that you were using one.
I think a new screen is definitely in order, can you buy the parts i told you and have a local repair man do it?
Well the line keeps going more and more invisible all the time (being barely seeable anymore) so it seems i will not have to go through the trouble to get it repaired. Thanks for your replies anyways Mickoz74, will contact sum repairmen in future if it gets fucked up again! Now that the problem is "fixed" i would like to ask again what i did in first post. Has this occurred to anyone else before? It would be nice to now that im not alone =D
My girlfriend's old DS had a single stuck pixel. It sometimes stuck on red, other times remained completely dark. As I mentioned earlier, this is a rare problem on the DS. Nintendo has pretty good quality control. But it can and does happen from time to time.
