The subject of this thread really doesn't give too much information about what it will be about. What I want to ask is... how many people are currently (or have in the past) using a screen protector(s) for their DS? I bought some that were reccommended by the staff at a local video game store, but I am too scared to apply them. My main worries are as follows: might reduce quality of picture, might not go on correctly and end up leaving air bubles/etc., and that the touch screen feature may not work correctly anymore. So, who here can share their success stories and nightmares involving screen protectors?
I had a screen protector on the touchscreen of my old DS, and no problems (other than getting it on) with it. I also have screen protectors of both screen of my DS Lite, agian no problems other than getting them on without bubbles, took me 3-4 attempts. Just make sure your screen are completely clear no dust or anything as that is what really shows if you put it on. My brother had a screen protector on his old DS, and at one stage his touchscree stopped working for some reason, when we took off and put back on the screen protector it was fine again (I think somehting got under it, so made it keep touching part of th screen) We have had no othe rproblems with screen protectors on four DS's so far.
Again, a big thanks to mr hanky! You really are on top of the DS -- and always available for great advice! Makes me wonder how you find time to actually PLAY your DS!
i use screen protectors only on the touch screen.. the fat ds i had before was the reason why. i saw how badly i owned the touch screen lol.. i press a little too hard on it i guess. with the protector, i still have no scratches whatsoever. its a cheapy protector.. only has adhesive in the corners, so to make it easier on me i just took all the adhesive off and left it just laying there. doesn't fall off and won't come off until i take it off. i also use a skin from decalgirl to make sure the ds lite itself doesn't get any scratches
I have the nice Hori screen protectors no adhesive at all, uses some other method to stay on, i've been thinking of getting a skin from decalgirl, but i'm too lazy to look through them all ¬_¬
I've been using Pelican screen protectors on my DS, and a retro NES skin from Decal Girl. You really should get one mr hanky, and it actually doesn't take too long to sift through all the generic skins they offer to find the ones you actually like.
I might do sometime, just have to wait till I have a bit more money, i just spent £30 on a Max Drive for my gamecube, and i'm meant to be saving up £500 in a couple of weeks as I'm moving to a new place ¬_¬ Also just been told off by a mod for my Userbars filesizes being too big, my fault really for not thinking about checking their filesize.
hey im using a Pelican screen protector on my NDS and i want to take it off and apply a new one. However, the fit was too nice and i can't take it off...does anyone suggest anything?
I used a knife, but that's probably not the best approach. Try using some tape with really strong adhesive to get the touch screen protector off.
